PLOT THE PLOT

We provide you with a product and client brief, and you plot the plot for a TVC. Simple enough? Well, take the plunge, flash your creativity for others to see, and take notice. The top three entries will find a place of pride in the Arena for the next fortnight or so.

Background: Instant Noodles is one product that has done wonders to, and in the Nepali market, mutton flavour being the latest innovation. Vikalpa Snack Food (fictitious), a start up company in a bid to outdo the firmly set players of the Instant Noodle industry has come up with an innovation that may bring it instant success. A lot of it will depend on the upcoming ad campaign, particularly TVC.

Just Noodles as a brand introduces a new concept in the Instant Noodles industry. The customers taste and preference instead of being driven by the product will rest in their hands. Rather than provide noodles in individual flavours like chicken, vegetable or mutton, Just Noodles provides all three tastemakers along with the noodles, available in white and non-white varieties, so that the customer can choose the flavour or the mix.

So, the task at hand is to create a plot for their TVC.

Client: Vikalpa Snack Food

Brand: Just Noodles

Creative Requirement: A TVC that not only brings out the philosophy of ‘choice’ behind Just Noodles, but also highlights the limitations of competing single flavour instant noodles. The plot should be built around the idea of, ‘Freedom to Choose’.

Achievements as a result of TVC: Commercially, the TVC should ensure a smooth entry for Just Noodles in the market. To portray Just Noodles as ‘not just another noodles’ in the already crowded noodles market.

Target Audience: The young and the upwardly mobile, many of who have to spend many an evening at work, or sacrifice lunches for a firmer stepping in the corporate ladder, and thus need to fit in quick snacks in their busy schedule.
